IKUTA RYOKUCHI PARK is one of the most cherished park areas in all of Kawasaki. Surrounded by small woods made up of various oaks, Ikuta Park is located in the gently undulating Tama Hills. The park contains many varieties of seasonal flowers such as cherry blossoms at Mt. Masugata, 2,800 Irises in the Iris Garden, as well as Hydrangeas, Camellias, and Azaleas in the Citizens’ Flower Garden. Wet Plants such as Alders, Paddy Fields, as well as paths between rice fields can be seen in their natural setting from the walking path that is comprised of log stairs and wooden lanes. The city helps you enjoy a visit to this elegant, peaceful and relaxing environment. Some of the main facilities available in IKUTA PARK are as follows: There is an observation platform at the top of Mt. Masugata, a Fountain Square, Nihon Minka-en (Japan Open-Air Folk Museum) where there are many Traditional Folk houses; Kawasaki Sora To Midori No Kagaku Kan (Kawasaki Municipal Science Museum) which has a Planetarium; Okamoto Taro Bijutsu-kan (Taro Okamoto Museum of Art Kawasaki), Dento Kougei Kan(Traditional Craft Center) where you can try dyeing material the colour of deep blue; and “Rose Garden” which is open to the public in the Spring and Autumn.

ACCESS

Traveling time

By train

Approx.15-minute walk from the south exit of Mukogaoka-yuen station on the Odakyu Line
Approx.20-minute walk from Noborito Station on the JR Nambu Line

By bus

Senshu Daigaku mae bus stop (10-minute from the north exit of the Mukogaoka-yuen Station)

By car

Make left turn at the Tomei Expressway Exit Intersection and about 10- minute from Inukura Intersection Take Setagaya-Machida Road and 3-minute from Tama Keisatsusho mae (Police station) Intersection Take Kawasaki-Fuchu Kaidou Road and approx. 2-minute from Inao-bashi Intersection. Parking is available. However, please use public transportation when visiting the park.

Admission to IKUTA RYOKUCHI PARK is free except for the following facilities;

Nihon Minka-en

(Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum) 0 minute from the East Gate of Ikuta Park.
